Naz Arjuna won the inaugural Giffard Asian Cup with his brand new Smoked Banana Pancakes cocktail. As the Asian champion, he will meet other regional champions in the World Final, in France, on 13 May.
The Giffard West Cup has expanded and embraced Asian talent for the first time. On Tuesday 5 March, eight of Singapore’s most talented, professional mixologists gathered at the Sentosa Sky Loft and were challenged to create a new and original cocktail that contained at least 10ml of any Giffard Premium Liqueur.
The event was hosted by Rochembeaux and drew competitors from 8 Singapore bars, Maison Ikkoku, Verve, Bitters & Love, Pitmasters, KSS Bar, Bistecca Bar, MAD and Nektar.
Naz Arjuna edged out his rivals with his original Smoked Banana Pancakes. The judges commented that the degree of creativity was outstanding but the winning recipe also showed original presentation as well as flavour.
